More Bermuda Cruising Options For 2015

Planning a cruise to Bermuda next year? With news that the Holland America Line is returning to the pink sands and pastel-colored skyline of our island on seven-day cruises aboard MS Veendam, you suddenly have more options than ever when it comes to planning a visit to our little corner of paradise in 2015!

Sailing roundtrip from Boston, Massachusetts, six departures will sail in May, June, and July, each of them featuring three days and nights in Hamilton, the island’s capital, known for its gorgeous beaches, shopping opportunities, abundance of golf courses, and exciting cultural happenings.

Carrying just 1,350 guests, the MS Veendam offers an ideal mid-size ship experience to Bermuda that enables the vessel to dock at Hamilton, right in the center of town. The seven-day voyages spend a day at sea after departing Boston and arrive on the island at mid-day, leaving enough time for guests to go ashore and enjoy the town before the sun sets.

The vessel then spends three nights docked, allowing guests to experience local nightlife and dine ashore, with access to the ship always available. After the three days of fun and adventure, the MS Veendam departs Bermuda during the afternoon of its final day in Hamilton, with only a day at sea required before arriving back in Boston.

“We know our guests will be excited to see us cruise again to Bermuda in 2015,” said Richard Meadows, Holland America Line’s executive vice president of sales, marketing and guest relations. “By extending the call to three nights, guests can have extensive time to experience the island while still enjoying the award-wining service and amenities that Holland America Line is known for.”

The seven-day Bermuda itinerary can be combined with a seven-day Canada/New England cruise in order to create a 14-day Bermuda and Canada/New England Collectors’ Voyage. The full Collectors’ cruise calls at Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Sydney and Halifax, Nova Scotia, Bar Harbor, Maine, Boston, Massachusetts, and Hamilton, Bermuda, with scenic cruising in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

The Bermuda cruise also can be combined with a 17-day Panama Canal transit to create a 24-day Panama Canal and Bermuda Collectors’ Voyage. The ship departs San Diego, California on April 15, and calls at ports in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Colombia, as well as Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Boston, Massachusetts, and Hamilton, Bermuda, including a full transit of the Panama Canal.

The MS Veendam offers an onboard experience defined by spacious comfort and the latest features and amenities. Guests aboard the ship will not only enjoy elegant dining rooms, a $2 million art and antique collection, wide teak decks, and spacious staterooms — many with private verandas — but also new and exciting venues and the latest culinary and entertainment enhancements.

Cruise fares begin at $799 for the seven-day cruises, $1,499 for the 14-day Bermuda and Canada/New England Collectors’ Voyages, and $2,499 for the 24-day Panama Canal and Bermuda Collectors’ Voyage, all per person, double occupancy.
