Azura Boutique Hotel and Residences opened its doors to welcome almost 200 curious guests for an initial look at completed units in the first phase of the development.
The one, two and three bedroom units are located within 10 minutes drive of Hamilton in Warwick on the site of the former Surf Side Beach Club with uninterrupted views of the South Shore and a unique private beach area surround by natural cliffs.
Developer John Bush kicked off the night with a few opening remarks. Mr. Bush said, “We have substantially completed all amenities and are thrilled to be well on our way to closing out Azura’s first phase, with only a few Hotel Residences remaining. We look forward to breaking ground on the second phase in 2019 with ten 3 bedroom units planned to complete the development.
Guests at the preview event were treated to poolside cocktails by Gosling’s and The Blind Pig Cocktail Company along with fresh local ceviche and a beach BBQ by Take Five Catering. The event was produced by Dasfete along with Strata-G Advertising while DJ Korie Minors provided entertainment for the night. Although phase 1 still has construction under way, some Hotel Residence owners have moved into their units and several joined in on the evening’s festivities. One of the owners, Ms. Feldman, called Azura an “oasis of tranquillity.”
All Azura owners will join the Azura Hotel program through which their full residence or individual bedrooms will be made available to visitors, a unique concept for Bermuda. Owners can “Lock-Off” their private Owner’s Suite exclusively for owner use year round, leaving the other bedroom[s] available for rental. All Hotel Program participants share in Hotel rental revenues and government incentives in return.
This flexibility has also attracted international purchasers who view Bermuda as their second home. Ms. Senofonte, an Azura residence owner said “We are thrilled to be a part of Azura. We fell in love with Bermuda several years ago and are looking forward to spending time away from Miami to get away to our home away from home. Waking up to spectacular views in a comfortable setting with great neighbours is everything we were hoping it would be.”
Local architecture firm, cTx, is behind the design of the Azura property with Greymane Contracting managing the construction. Mr. Brown, an owner of one of the two bedroom Azura units, commented on the local talent involved in the project, “I was absolutely overwhelmed by the quality of my condominium, the quality of work, and top shelf material!”
Eight units remain available to purchase by Bermudians, non-Bermudians and Work Permit holders. Ocean view one bedroom lofts start at $695,000. A three bedroom town home, 4 three bedroom ocean front condominiums, and a three bedroom private oceanfront villa are also available at prices ranging from $1,845,000 to $2.5M.
