10 Animals Faster Than Bermuda’s Speed Limit

When it comes to speed, there are many animals in the world that are capable of outpacing the Bermuda speed limit, from cheetahs to peregrine falcons, these amazing creatures would get a speeding ticket if they hit the roads of Bermuda.

Cheetah: With speeds of around 60 miles per hour, the cheetah is widely considered to be the fastest land animal in the world. If one of these big cats ever got loose in Bermuda — which we hope never happens — it could travel the length of the island in 20 minutes.

Pronghorn Antelope: This North American antelope is capable of reaching speeds of up to 55 miles per hour, making it one of the fastest land animals in the world. Their unique anatomy, including their large lungs and heart, allows them to sustain their speed over long distances.

Sailfish: These ocean-dwelling fish are known for their incredible speed, capable of reaching speeds of up to 68 miles per hour. With their streamlined bodies and powerful tails, sailfish are able to outswim many of their predators.

Marlin: Another fast-swimming fish, marlins are capable of reaching speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. These are sometimes caught in Bermuda’s waters by sport fishermen.

Greyhound: Known for their speed and agility, greyhounds are one of the fastest breeds of dogs in the world, capable of reaching speeds of up to 45 miles per hour. Their slender build and long legs make them ideal for sprinting and chasing prey.

Falcon: The peregrine falcon is widely considered to be the fastest bird in the world, capable of reaching speeds of over 200 miles per hour when diving to catch its prey. With its sharp talons and keen eyesight, the peregrine falcon is a formidable hunter.

Black Marlin: Another fast-swimming fish, black marlins are capable of reaching speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. These powerful creatures are often sought after by sport fishermen for their incredible strength and speed.

Ostrich: While they may not be the fastest animals on land, ostriches are still capable of reaching speeds of up to 45 miles per hour. Their long legs and large size make them capable of covering great distances in a short amount of time.

Lion: Known for their strength and power, lions are also surprisingly fast, capable of reaching speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. While they are primarily ambush predators, lions are capable of sprinting for short distances to catch their prey.

Golden Eagle: With its sharp talons and powerful wings, the golden eagle is capable of reaching speeds of up to 150 miles per hour when diving to catch its prey. These majestic birds are known for their incredible agility and hunting prowess.
