Spectacular carnival costumes were on display as NOVA Mas International hosted their 2020 Carnival Costume Presentation & Launch Party Experience, with the event showcasing costumes created by local designers Colita Cook-Shillingford and Barbie Paynter.
NOVA Mas explained that Cook-Shillingford and Paynter participated in the Cultural Apprenticeship program that was facilitated last year between NOVA Mas International and the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, earning them the opportunity to take part in the event.
“Both ladies won the Carnival Costume Design Challenge and were provided with the opportunity to submit costume prototype designs for NOVA for Bermuda Carnival 2020,” a spokesperson said.
