Bermuda Trail Mix, Confections & Gin Now Available On BermudAir

Locally-based airline BermudAir has added three new companies to its roster of local partners for inflight services. Confections, Bermuda Trail Mix and Bermuda Gin Company are the latest suppliers providing local products for the airline’s inflight food and beverage offerings.

“We’re delighted to formally welcome Confections, Bermuda Trail Mix and Bermuda Gin Company into the group of local partners collaborating with BermudAir on our inflight service offerings,” said Adam Scott, Founder and CEO of BermudAir. “These additional partners reinforce our commitment to reflecting a range of locally available food and beverages in BermudAir’s inflight experience. Our local partners help us to represent Bermuda authentically inflight and on the ground, which is very important to us.”

Bermuda Trail Mix, which will be available on board in both cabins in March, specialises in locally inspired and prepared trail mixes and granolas. Entrepreneur and CEO Mo’nique Stevens says that the company aims to give customers the best variety of flavours designed to bring them back for more.

“I’m very happy to have this opportunity to partner with BermudAir, to highlight both my product and a piece of Bermuda’s history,” said Ms. Stevens. “The origin of the name pays homage to our historical Railway Trails that are no longer operational. Remains of the trail still exist which add to the beauty, history and culture of the island. Locals or visitors can fuel up with a bag of Bermuda Trail Mix while exploring the Railway Trails, relaxing at the beach, and now on BermudAir!”

Founded by life-long baker Allison Smith, Confections is a boutique gourmet cookie bakery specialising in presenting the traditional Bermuda sugar cookie in distinctive, beautiful packaging. Based in St. George’s, Confections’ array of offerings artistically and deliciously pay homage to the unique beauty of Bermuda. Confections cookies, in their signature packaging, are available on all BermudAir routes.

“We are truly grateful to have been given the opportunity to partner with BermudAir and have our cookies attain new heights,” Ms. Smith said. “It’s our hope that our cookies will provide a delicious introduction to Bermuda for our visitors, and a sweet and nostalgic taste of home for our travelling residents.”

Bermuda Gin Company will provide products to BermudAir as of March 29th, 2024, when the airline will be launching a new inflight menu. Headed by founder and CEO Roy Fellowes, the company’s current products are its Pink House Gin and White Roof Gin. Bermuda Gin Company is also the Bermuda licensed operator of ecoSpirits, a global firm that has developed the world’s first low carbon, low waste, reusable packaging system for premium spirits and wine. In line with BermudAir’s commitment to sustainability across its operations, ecoSpirit’s packaging technology tackles the problem of single use glass in the global spirits and wine industry, eliminating significant packaging waste in the supply chain and reducing carbon emissions. BermudAir will be the first airline in the world to incorporate this system in its operations.

Mr. Fellowes commented on the collaboration with BermudAir: “Bermuda Gin Co is thrilled to join forces with BermudAir in an exciting partnership that takes our gins to new heights. This is a great step forward and upward in our mission to put Bermuda on the gin map of the world”.

BermudAir marked the new partnerships on Valentine’s Day by surprising passengers on all flights with customised cookies and cocktails on board. The fun celebrations included having mixologist and Bermuda Gin Company brand ambassador Aaron Mattis-Robinson prepare the customised “Hibiscus 75” Pink House gin cocktail inflight, which all passengers were able to sample and enjoy.

BermudAir’s other local food and beverage partners include Ahmani’s Cookie Company, Bermuda Craft Brewing, Butterfield and Vallis, Gosling’s and L’Artisan bakery.

The airline also issued a Valentine’s Promotion, which ends on Friday 16th February 2024, offering 20% off economy and business class base fares [taxes not included in the discount] for passengers booking with the discount code LOVE20. Travel must be completed between March 1st and December 31st 2024. More details and booking are available on www.flybermudair.com.
