Bermuda, America’s Cup On CNN’s MainSail

Sailing enthusiasts were not disappointed by the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series in Bermuda in October 2015, with the international coverage that came with it including a feature done by CNN’s MainSail, a television programme on CNN International which covers sailing around the world.

MainSail sent a crew to Bermuda to cover the build up to and action of the event, providing ample footage of the island as it offered an in-depth look at the iconic sailing series, with double Olympic gold medalist Shirley Robertson acting as host.

Noting that the “intensity is really building” ahead of the main America’s Cup competition, Ms. Robertson ends the program by predicting a “stunner” of an event in 2017.

“It’s been quite a weekend here in Bermuda – a snapshot of what the 35th America’s Cup could offer us,” says Ms. Robertson as the episode winds down.

“What have we learned? The defenders Oracle Team USA and Jimmy Spithill are up for a fight. Also, you can’t write anyone off; Artemis showed us that.

“The intensity is really building, and the America’s Cup in 2017 looks set to be a stunner.”
