Bermuda Heroes Weekend Set For June 12-15

The Bermuda Heroes Weekend, an inaugural carnival event that will include international soca artists, DJs, a J’Ouvert celebration, a Parade of Bands, and more, is set to take place on the island from June 12 through June 15, offering the likeness of a Caribbean-style carnival, but infused with the local culture of Bermuda.

Show In Hamilton: June 12

The four-day event will kick off on Friday, June 12 with a free live stage show on Front Street in the City of Hamilton, with headliner soca band Kes The Band to be joined by performances from Kerwin Du Bois, Lyrikal, DJ Barrie Hype, DJ Crown Prince, and DJ Stephen.

The local entertainment will include the D.I.A. band and DJ Rusty G. The MC will be Bermuda’s own Voice of the Village, Mr. Wendell Dill.

J’Ouvert Celebration at Morgan’s Point: June 13

On Saturday, June 13, there will be a traditional J’Ouvert celebration at Morgan’s Point in Southampton, complete with paint, powder and music. The event will start at 3.00am, which is customary in order to allow party-goers to celebrate while watching a beautiful Bermuda sunrise

Parade Of Bands At Morgan’s Point: June 13

On Saturday afternoon, the island will see its first-ever Parade of Bands, which will also be held at Morgan’s Point in Southampton, beginning at 12.00pm. The event will feature music trucks, stage performances, DJs, dance troupes, and much more.

Pan In The Park: June 14

On Sunday, June 14, Bermuda Heroes Weekend will host Pan in the Park at Victoria Park in the City of Hamilton, with local musicians and bands performing on the steel pan. This will be a family-friendly event.

Raft-Up In Pembroke: June 15

A Bermuda-style Raft Up will be the final event held on Monday, June 15, just off of Admiralty House on the North Shore in Pembroke. It will be open to Bermuda’s boating community. Bermuda Heroes Weekend has chartered a boat specifically for visitors and residents who do not have access to a boat.
