St. Mary’s Church has launched its Digital Scrapbook Project, inviting families, former parishioners, and the wider community to share stories and photographs as part of its 400th-anniversary celebrations.
A spokesperson said, “St. Mary’s Church is pleased to announce that the St. Mary’s Digital Scrapbook Project has officially begun and is now underway, inviting families, former parishioners, and the broader St. Mary’s community to submit their stories and photographs as part of the church’s 400th-anniversary celebrations.
“This year’s anniversary theme, “Generations of Faith: Honouring Our Past, Celebrating Our Present, Glorifying Our Future,” guides the purpose and spirit of the Digital Scrapbook. As St. Mary’s reflects on four centuries of worship, service, and community life, the scrapbook offers a meaningful way to honour the legacy entrusted to us, celebrate the parish’s vibrant life today, and glorify the future God is calling us to build together. Each submission adds to a living archive that captures the faith, resilience, and shared story of the St. Mary’s family.
“Created in partnership with the National Museum of Bermuda [NMB], the Digital Scrapbook preserves and showcases the rich history, memories, and connections that have shaped St. Mary’s Church over four centuries. This living archive will grow continuously as submissions are received, forming a lasting record of the parish’s heritage.
“The project builds on the National Museum’s successful Family Scrapbook Project, with NMB providing back-end support. Dr. Deborah Atwood, NMB Curator of the National Museum, will review each submission before publication, ensuring the scrapbook remains a curated, high-quality historical resource.

“In the coming weeks, St. Mary’s will also identify key families with deep ties to the parish who may be willing to contribute multiple stories, helping build a strong foundation of examples for others who wish to participate.
