One of most anticipated events on Bermuda’s calendar is taking place today, with the island’s unique culture on display at the 2016 Bermuda Day Parade.
Expected to last for hours as thousands of people line the streets of Hamilton for a good look, the parade showcases everything from Gombey troupes to motorcycles, giving those camped out for the event a taste of the island’s storied history alongside modern entertainment.
In all, the parade includes the Bermuda Longriders Motorcycle Club & Association, Royal Bermuda Regiment Band, Miss Bermuda Alyssa Rose, Bermuda Rifle and Drill Team, Portuguese Cultural Association, Dynamic City Rockettes, and United Dance Productions.
Other acts at the parade include Gombey Evolution Troupe, PHC Majorettes, Bermuda African Dance Company, Challenge Dance Crew, B, H&H Gombey Troupe, The Bermuda Carnival Revelers, Passion Bermuda and many more.
