Loren Re-Opens Hotel & Pink Beach Restaurant

The Loren Hotel has announced that it is “officially re-opening its doors on May 28th to the local Bermuda community for hotel stays and socially-distant dining at the Pink Beach Club restaurant.”

A spokesperson said, “In accordance with rules and regulations set out by the Government for Covid-19 Recovery Phase 2, the Pink Beach Club restaurant, considered an outdoor restaurant, will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, 7 days a week, to limited numbers.

General Manager of the Loren Hotel, Sebastian Maingourd said, “We have been busy preparing to welcome the Bermuda community back to the Loren.

“Our management team has worked diligently over the last month to develop a thorough health and safety strategy to ensure all of our staff and guests are kept safe during their time here at the hotel. We have implemented measures such as a CDC approved spray down process on all departure rooms, utilizing EPA approved sanitizing detergents.

“All parts of the room, paying extra attention to those high touchpoints, are sprayed down and then deep cleaned again before the next arrival. Of course, we have also increased the frequency of cleaning public areas, as well as enhanced our cleaning regimes based on the training and certification that all of our staff have recently undergone.”

The Loren said they are “offering special staycation rates for locals from now through the end of June starting at $350 per night.”

Mr. Maingourd noted, “This time last year the average hotel rate was upwards of $1,000 per night. Given the unique situation that the hotel industry finds itself in today, we are happy to be able to offer a reduced staycation rate to locals starting at $350 per night during what would have ordinarily been our peak season.

“There are a number of hotel packages available only for locals to take advantage of from now through the end of June, such as our healthy weekend escape that offers complimentary smoothies and yoga. There is also family staycation package for up to 6 people and a “Work Remote” day rate for those who are currently working from home and looking for a change of scenery or in need of some peace and quiet.”

Executive Chef at Pink Beach Club Tim Sullivan stated, “The Loren is proud to be able to have served over 50,000 meals since April 1st to the vulnerable community during lockdown. Now we are happy to officially be re-opening Pink Beach Club restaurant and sincerely look forward to serving the wider Bermuda community again.

“We are strictly adhering to the Department of Health’s health and safety guidelines. The wellbeing of our staff and our guests is our number one priority. The Pink beach Club is an outdoor restaurant and has quite an expansive terrace that extends into the pool area.

“We have been working hard to create table configurations ensuring the required physical distancing between parties can be achieved. We invite all Bermuda residents to join us for a meal, but be sure to call in advance for reservations as we obviously are limited to a certain number of guests permitted in the restaurant at one time.

“We will continue our take-out menu available for delivery or curbside collection as that has proved popular.” Mr. Sullivan continued, “After being cooped up at home over the last several weeks, we hope that people will want to come out enjoy being served. Not to mention, our oceanfront location is beautiful and has a great sense of tranquility.”

Founder of the Loren Hotel Group Stephen King commented, “Even without airlift to the island, The Loren still wanted to open its doors to Bermuda as soon as possible. We see this as a great opportunity to encourage the local community to experience The Loren.

“Being one of newest hotels on the island, many locals probably have not yet stayed at the hotel. Now is the time. The Bermuda Day and Heroes Day holidays are around the corner and while many of the traditional festivities unfortunately had to be canceled, the Loren is happy to provide an alternative way to celebrate this year.”
