Shiona Turini worked as a stylist for the September issue of Ebony magazine, with the Bermudian fashion consultant responsible for styling the cover image of Issa Rae as well as the accompanying inside photo spread.
“So proud to have played a part in this queen’s story for such a historic publication,” Ms Turini said on social media.
This is the latest in an ever increasing portfolio of work by Ms Turini, who is a highly accomplished style consultant who has worked at publications including Teen Vogue and Cosmopolitan, styled celebrities such as Solange and Beyoncé Knowles, and worked with leading brands such as Nike.
Issa Rae started her path to stardom with her YouTube web series Awkward Black Girl, and now stars in the HBO television series Insecure, which is the first series to be written by and star a black woman on the US cable network
Ebony said, “Issa uses wit and self-reflection to tell stories of the black experience, sisterhood and racial issues, and she makes it her business to empower a new generation of creatives.”
